The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)  gives effect to the constitutional right to privacy, by safeguarding personal information when processed by a responsible party, subject to justifiable limitations. Enacted in 2013, come into practice on 1 July 2020, needs to be implemented in Organisations by 1 July 2021.
